Ivan Domingues Steps Up to FIA Formula 3 with Van Amersfoort Racing
Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) is thrilled to confirm that Ivan Domingues will join its FIA Formula 3 lineup for the 2025 season. After a standout rookie year in the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) and a strong history with VAR, Ivan is ready to take the next big step in his motorsport career.
Born in Leiria, Portugal, on May 5, 2006, Ivan started karting at the young age of nine years old, competing in various national and international karting championships. In 2022, Ivan transitioned to single-seater racing, competing in the F4 UAE Championship and later the Italian F4 Championship. His success in these highly competitive series laid the groundwork for his climb up to FRECA and now FIA Formula 3.
Ivan’s journey with Van Amersfoort Racing began in 2023 when he competed in the Italian F4 and Euro 4 Championships with the team. That year, Ivan showed tremendous growth, including a highlight performance at Imola where he achieved a podium finish. In 2024, he made his full-time debut in FRECA with VAR, securing two podiums and earning the prestigious Racelience Award as one of the strongest rookies in the field. His consistent performance and determination have made him a natural choice for the team’s FIA Formula 3 campaign.

Ivan will join the team for the official FIA Formula 3 pre-season testing in Barcelona from 19 to 21 February, where he will get his first taste of the new F3 car. The 2025 Formula 3 season will consist of 10 rounds, visiting iconic circuits worldwide, including Bahrain, Monaco, Silverstone, Spa, and Monza. The 2025 season will debut at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne from 14 to 16 March. Each race weekend will feature two races, promising action-packed competition.
