Brando Badoer secures birthday podium with third-place finish at Red Bull Ring for Van Amersfoort Racing
Van Amersfoort Racing showed strong form at the Red Bull Ring during the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, navigating challenging weather conditions.
In the opening Collective Test on Friday, Brando Badoer led the team with a strong fourth-place finish. In the second Collective Test, Pedro Clerot excelled, finishing second. Brando also performed well, securing a solid eighth place as the track began to dry. Ivan Domingues finished 13th, gaining valuable experience on the wet track.
Qualifying 1 saw Brando and Pedro putting in excellent effort, both securing second place in their respective qualifying groups. This placed both drivers in strong positions for Race 1. Unfortunately, the race didn’t go as they had hoped for with Brando finishing 7th while Pedro and Ivan missed out on points.
On Sunday, Brando secured a front-row start in wet conditions during Qualifying 2, securing the fastest lap in Group A. Pedro followed with another solid session, securing third in Group B. In Race 2, all Van Amersfoort Racing drivers scored points. Brando claimed a third-place podium finish, a good birthday present for the Italian driver. Pedro finished sixth, while Ivan achieved his best result of the weekend with a top 10 finish.
