Van Amersfoort Racing is currently seeking highly motivated, experienced Race Engineers for our race team in FIA Formula 2!
Job Description
As a Formula 2 Race Engineer at Van Amersfoort Racing, you will be responsible for optimizing the performance of our race cars. You will play a crucial rule in guiding our drivers’ success on track. Besides competing in F2, you will be directly involved in our test team, guiding the development and performance of our drivers on test days. Based in Zeewolde, but as you can imagine you will see a lot of race tracks abroad.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform set-up work on race cars to ensure optimal performance on different tracks and in different conditions.
- Implement advanced data collection techniques to continuously analyze and interpret the performance of our race cars during test sessions and races to improve performance.
- Report to the chief engineer and team manager, through driver reports, engineering reports, and damage reports, as well as record-keeping, to keep them informed about performance on and off the track.
- Open communication with drivers to translate their feedback into technical adjustments to improve performance, and coach them to improve and optimize their driving.
- Work with the engineering team to develop race strategies based on data, weather conditions, and competitive analysis.
- Solve technical issues quickly during races and provide quick fixes to ensure the reliability of the race cars.
- Work closely with other engineers, mechanics, and technicians to ensure that all aspects of the race cars are functioning optimally.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in motorsports and implement innovations to gain a competitive advantage.
- Involved in development and maintenance of our test team.
Requirements
- A relevant university degree, such as mechanical engineering or aerodynamics, as well as experienced as Race Engineer and have a proven success track record in a professional motorsport environment.
- Experience in single seaters is preferred.
Demonstrate an extensive technical knowledge of (single-seater) race cars and exhibit strong analytical skills. - Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining the highest standards.
- Teamplayer mentality with a high sense of responsibility. Strong work ethic and commitment to succeed.
- Excellent English communication skills, oral and written.
- Living in the Netherlands, or prepared to move, and available full-time is preferred.
- Work on weekends as well as being flexible to work overtime.
- Domestic and international travel is expected.
